The climate is moderate, with summertime temperatures in the 80s. Winters are wet and mild with occasional snow or frost. The elevation in Garberville is 479 feet, while King's Peak rises to 4,087 feet, and the air is crystal clear. The Eel River and the Mattole River wind through the area, providing habitat for salmon and steelhead.
